After months, the rumors of an October 14th date of a new macbook/macbook pro are starting to show some teeth…

a number of sites (electronista link following) have started circulating a new image of the possible case of the new macbook. the brick name is said to come from the process to create the case - the unit starts as a solid brick of aluminum.

this would produce a light and SOLID case. many believe this will be a costly process initially for apple, but return many benefits in the coming years with this process.

again, i’m waiting for the new macbook and hope that this is it! will it appear on the 14, will apple announce it on the 14th with the product available in time for the holidays? my personal hope is a machine will be introduced next week and be available immediately but time will tell.

could this be it? the latest rumors meet in the middle with a number of discussions that have been floating around that Oct 14 (tuesday of course) would be the release of the next macbooks (maybe pros too).

again, i personally have been waiting (almost holding my breath) for the new macbooks. i expected (like many) that this summer would be the release or early fall (in time for back to school) but alas - nothing!

nvidia is said to be showing off the new macbooks with their graphic cards installed. this would be a welcomed addition to the macbook since it is a “downside” that all the graphic processing comes from the main board and does limit some things. for many macbook users (myself included) - graphics are secondary on the macbook - it is a machine for word processing, email, web - all things it does very quickly and very well.

the graphics benefits would be welcomed though. more to come in the next week (a week from tomorrow actually). HOPE - HOPE - HOPE… i’m a-itchin’

there are now talks about apple shipping the new macbooks to stores this week (for sept 23?)

as i have said a number of times - i’m waiting very impatiently for the new macbooks and it would not surprise me if the apple store went down tomorrow (16th) or next tuesday (23rd) with the new machines showing up when the store comes back online. i think i’ll look at the specs and if all is as i expect i’ll take a trip to the short hills store and get the new machine and order all the “extras”.

i’m planning on a 320gb drive and 4gb+ ram. hear anything?

a few days following the event in CA on the 9th of September, information (read “rumors”) about an announcement for laptops is expected in october. the date expected is October 14 and the new laptops will most likely be a macbook update and a macbook pro upgrade.

as i have said before - this is what i am waiting for. i’m not buying a new ipod in the coming months so the iPod announcement, however interesting is squished by the fact i have been personally waiting for the new macbooks and nothing!

it looks like the macbooks will be announced in the fall and hit hard for the holiday season and new year! silver lining is all the items i am looking for (larger hard drives and memory) will continue to drop in price (or increase in size) as time passes.

after a couple of weeks of rumors and speculation about this event coming on tuesday - i’m very excited about itunes 8 and the updated iPhone software…

i have also been waiting for the new macbooks. latest “news” has been that a couple of new iPods will be introduced, prices will drop and the software will be updated, but the macs (laptops or desktops) will be left out of the announcement… Urg

for the first time in my life i am on the edge of buying a new computer (macbook) and they just are not coming. generally they would be out for school season (which we are in the throws of), now the next thought would be holidays - but they try to get this all together so they do not appear on december 1 (i hope).

In news over the last few days, more “details” have been surfacing relating to the Apple Event scheduled for next Tuesday (9/9/08). I’m excited.

One of the key factors of the announcement seems to be iTunes 8! Some really cool technology may be tied into this.

I’m also wondering if 10.5.5 is going to appear this week or just before the release next week.

New iTouch and iPods (nano specifically) appear to be on the horizon and personally I am really hoping for a new MacBook (even if they announce and do not ship for a week or two). I’ll be putting in my order!

The rumor-mill (via macrumors and kevinrose.com) is starting to whir (hear it?) on the internet over the last few days. MANY are expecting that Apple is going to release updates to iPods (and cost adjustments - bringing the costs of the iPods lower to not be competing with the $199 iPhone).

The “leaked” design of the new nano looks real nice - exciting! do i really need ANOTHER iPod? Keeping our ear to the ground and i’m really waiting for the macbook in the coming weeks.

Best Buy is slated to start selling iPhone early in September (according to tuaw.com)! This would extend the reach (and the methods of obtaining an iPhone) to ATT, Apple and Best Buy (which can only be a good thing).

a Best Buy just opened in the neighboring town and i’m glad because it is a place i like to waste time - i generally do not buy anything there, but the market for technology and the reach of a store like this makes it a great place for people to stuble upon an iPhone and buy it!

There have been some pictures surfacing about an updated MacBook. I have been holding off buying a “personal” MacBook for the last few months knowing this was coming, but the delay has been greater than I think most had hoped.

I (along with others) believe this will hit the stores by the back-to-school season (which means soon - I hope). No one is really sure about the specs and what else apple may incorporate in the Mac, but I’m hoping for a backlit keyboard, 4+ GB of ram, 2+ ghz intel processor and 250gb+ hd. If i can get all this for about $1500, I’m heading out to the apple store ASAP.

Keep an eye on things, hopefully by September this will be the “current” MacBook.
